Young Learners Pre-School Gives The Best Counseling To Toddlers and Kids In Town.

I recently visited “Young Learners Preschool” before visiting the school I had a thought in my mind that why parents admit their kids before 4 years. I will specifically talk about 90’s kids, we all siblings are from 90’s and peer groups even got admission in 3-4 years of age, when I look at parents now a days they send their kids to school in 1.6 age which is indeed astonishing. But now my perception is completely contrary to what I use to think earlier. This amazing school makes students learn discipline, sharing, caring and a lot more through interactive activities, students grasp the way they teach them.Young Learners PreSchool has such an adorable toddler friendly set-up, with an environment which is secure, clean and conducive to learning through fun and play. Three ex-Karachi Grammar School Teachers from the Kindergarten section; Manizeh Qayoom, Imrana Zuhair and Yasmin Zaman started this venture in 2011. They are highly trained in Child Development and Education from USA/UK and various other international exposures all over the world. They each have an experience of 20 years of more teaching young children.
Their classes are divided into 3 standards; the youngest is the Mothers and Toddlers course designed for age groups from 10-17 months of age. Then they have a playgroup for ages 1.6-2.2 years and the highest grade is pre-nursery in which the graduating students are of 2.3 – 3.4 years. Currently they have enrolled 30 students, with 2 trained teachers in each class.
YLP incorporates High Scope’s educational approach, which means “active participatory learning.” And Active learning means students have direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events and ideas. This method focuses on the elements of Early Childhood Development and Education:
- Teaching Social and emotional Responsibility: YLP has a puppet in each class with cute names. If they want to send a message they send it through the puppet. Like if a child is crying, he will say that “It’s okay to cry, but you don’t need to cry right now, you have so many friends around you”. He will teach you magical words like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’. This aids in the children’s feelings about themselves, the development of responsibility, and their ability to relate positively to others
- Focusing On Physical development: They have a secure playground with sand and mattresses, in case they fall. But even then they have 1 maid and 2 teachers constantly supervising each child. They have jungle gym and monkey bars besides the regular slide and other outdoor activities. Different activities and outdoor games give them a sense of achievement for instance, reaching heights on their own.
- Cognitive development: Children’s thinking skills, including the development of logical and symbolic thinking, problem-solving skills is imbedded in them. Through various class room activities like identifying and remembering objects, shapes, names etc through nursery rhymes, songs, pictures, toys and sometimes even games.
